Children of the Forest

The Children of the Forest make their home deep in the roots of an old pine tree. They spend their days playing hide-and-go-seek with the squirrels in the autumn, and snowballing in the winter. Each season of the year brings the children adventure.

A charming nature-inspired story from Elsa Beskow.

This mini edition measures 127 x 172mm

Hardcover; 32 pages.

Elsa Beskow (1874-1953), born Elsa Maartman in Stockholm, was a pioneering author and illustrator of children’s books in Sweden. Her books were inspired by her own childhood experiences, as well as those of her six children. Central themes were the relationships between children and adults and children’s independent initiative. Her books are continually reprinted, and many have become classics.
